How to maintain resilience while caring for someone with dementia

If you are caring for someone with dementia, including Alzheimer's, it is important for you, and for them, to take care of yourself. It is a marathon, a long race, and the best care begins with the caregiver:
- Take five minutes for yourself, take a deep breath, have a drink, take a walk around the building, connect with yourself.
- Asking for help doesn't mean giving up. When fatigue wins – sharing the load helps and soothes
- Join a support group, share and listen to people who understand you, and get ideas that make a difference.
Remember: The better you feel, the better and more relaxed you will be able to provide care to your loved ones.
