How to prepare properly during war – even with dementia

In moments when a continuous stay in the nursing home is required, it is important to communicate this in a calm and simple manner to family members with dementia:
- Explain in short, calm words: "Now we will spend some time in the protected room, together, so that we will be safe."
- Bring familiar and beloved objects with you to the police station: a photo album, favorite music, or a simple game.
- Try to maintain as relaxed an atmosphere as possible – calm speech, soothing hand contact, and eye contact.
Remember: Your response directly affects your family member's sense of security.
