Cognikalb - Brain Gym

What is Cogniclub?

Cogniclub he is Group club For training and maintaining cognitive abilities – such as Gym, only To the brain.

The sessions are intended for seniors who experience a decline in memory or concentration, and for people with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or early dementia, who can still participate in group activities.

At Cogniclub meetings, thinking, memory, and attention are practiced in an experiential and social way, with board games, tablets, worksheets, and a good cup of coffee – in a pleasant, encouraging, and non-competitive atmosphere.

Who is it for?

  • Healthy adults who feel that “memory is not what it used to be” and want to strengthen the brain.
  • People with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or early dementia.
  • Participants who can sit in a small group and participate in a simple game/activity.
  • If necessary, you can come accompanied by a spouse, child, or foreign caregiver - and work together as a team.

What do we do at Cogniclub?

In each session (about an hour to an hour and a quarter), participants enter a "brain gym" and enjoy:

  • Structured cognitive training – Exercises to strengthen memory, attention, language, planning and problem solving.
  • Board games and digital games – Adjusting the level of difficulty for each participant, at a comfortable pace.
  • Individual and group work – Sometimes everyone practices alone, sometimes in pairs or small groups.
  • Tips for everyday life – Using a diary, lists, “memory anchors” and routines that make it easier to manage at home.
  • Permanent social framework – A pleasant meeting over a cup of coffee and light refreshments, which reduces loneliness and strengthens motivation to continue coming.

The groups are led by professional facilitators from EMDA (social worker, gerontology or guidance), who have undergone specialized training for brain training in older age.

What are the benefits for participants and families?

  • Strengthening the sense of ability – “I can still do it”, less despair from the memory.
  • Preservation and slowing of decline in thinking functions, as much as possible.
  • A regular activity routine that brings order and meaning to the week.
  • A regular social gathering that reduces loneliness and lifts your mood.
  • Relief for families – knowing that there is a professional framework that supports the loved one.
