EMDA's WhatsApp community — free of charge

Tips, updates, and practical guidance for families dealing with dementia and Alzheimer's

What is it?

EMDA's WhatsApp community is a quiet community, intended for family members caring for a person with dementia or Alzheimer's, as well as for professionals in healthcare, welfare, and caregiving.

“Quiet community” means that only EMDA posts messages to the community. This way, you can receive important information, tips, and updates — without an inundation of messages, long discussions, or irrelevant correspondence.

The community was established after EMDA's first WhatsApp group filled up. In December 2025, the community expanded with regional groups for family members in the north, center, and south, as well as a dedicated group for professionals. Since then, the community has grown from about 1,000 members at the end of 2025 to over 1,400 members in about five months.

Why should you join?

Family members caring for a person with dementia face many questions: What do we do today? Who do we turn to? What lecture can help? What's new regarding rights? How do we deal with confusion, resistance, overload, or burnout?

EMDA's WhatsApp community is designed to allow you to receive ongoing, practical, and concise guidance — directly to your phone. It's a simple way to stay connected to EMDA, not miss important events, get practical tips, and be reminded again and again: you are not alone.
